Editorial: Uncle Sam, M.D. - WSJ.com - Dr. Scott Gottlieb says drug-safety legislation in Congress would give the FDA the authority to control the way drugs are distributed by drugmakers and prescribed by physicians, but that is authority he says the agency should not have. Gottlieb says there will be problems if the government imposes "rigid solutions on a diverse healthcare system ill-equipped to deal with one-sized approaches to care, and on patients and doctors that require latitude to exercise individual preference in their treatment plans."
