FDA hopes ‘snapshots’ increase clinical trials diversity

FDA hopes ‘snapshots’ increase clinical trials diversity-politicopro: As part of the effort to increase the diversity of clinical trial participants and the accessibility of data about clinical trial demographics, the FDA has posted information about the sex, race and age of clinical trial participants for three newly approved drugs. Cosentyx, which treats psoriasis; Natpara to treat parathyroid problems; and Svaysa to prevent stroke. With this first update to its Drug Trials Snapshots website, FDA has incorporated some of the feedback it received from its original posting, expanding information about age, for example, and explaining the limitations of the data.
