Hours after the website was up and running a handful of doctors complained on Twitter that payments previously attributed to them were changed. Some stakeholders have said the problems with system -- compounded by other issues with the registration process -- could discourage some physicians from trying to participate in the program and affect the validity of the program's data. Others say the issue mirrors the problems healthcare.gov experienced when the site was first launched, and CMS should apply the lessons it learned from that experience when trying to move the program forward.
