Medtronic Heart Monitor Fails to Impress an F.D.A. Panel - New York Times
An FDA panel said that Medtronic's wireless implanted device that continuously monitors patients with weak hearts and sends data to doctors over the Internet has not yet proved effective enough in reducing hospital visits to warrant approval. A Medtronic spokesperson said that the panel agreed the Chronicle technology showed promise and said the company will "come back to the FDA and explore other ways to bring this to market."
